Classroom Design
The design of the physical classroom for D/deaf students is an important factor that all educators must take into consideration. Issues such as seating arrangements, lighting, the necessary equipment, acoustics and ventilation must be addressed. Even if these conditions are met, it does not guarantee success for maximum accessibility for D/deaf students. The classroom should provide D/deaf students the elements required to facilitate the learning process whilst identifying and eliminating the barriers created by lack of hearing in order to permit them to have equal access to learning as hearing students.
